BRAVE Combat Federation will host public weigh-ins today at the Hudayriat Beach, Al Hudayriat Island, Abu Dhabi ahead of Brave 16 to be held tomorrow.
It is the second event that Brave is hosting in Abu Dhabi. The event is open for the public and will feature fighters representing 16 nations.
The fight night features two championship title fights in the welterweight and featherweight division.
In the main event, the first and only champion who is crowned out of Guyana, Carlston Harris will defend the title against Jarrah Al Selawe of Jordan.
In the co-main event, Elias Boudegzdame of Algeria will face Bubba Jenkins of the US.
Also featured in the fight card are fan favourites including Team Lakay fighters Crisanto Pitpitunge and Jonathan Corton, Bruno Malfacine, Mounir Lazzez, Chad Hanekom and Mohammad Fakhreddine.
Bahrain’s professional fighters Hamza Kooheji and Hussain Ayyad will representing KHK MMA Fight team.
The weigh-ins will be followed by face-offs and interviews. The fighters will also interact with fans after the public weigh-ins.
Brave 16 will be held tomorrow at the Mubadala Arena in Abu Dhabi. Gates open at 5pm.
Meanwhile, athletes from the Philippines competing in Brave 16 visited the Embassy of Philippines.
Vaughn Donayre from Cebu will be up against Brazil’s Flavio Serafin in a catchweight bout. Crisanto Pitpitunge from Benguet will be fighting Bahrain’s Hamza Kooheji in a bantamweight bout and Jonathan Corton from Benguet will take on another Bahraini Hussain Ayyad in the flyweight bout.
The three Filipino fighters met the Ambassador of Philippines to the UAE Hjayceelyn Quintana.
“This is part of our people to people diplomacy to make sure that our Emirati friends know that we are one with them in terms of promoting solidarity through sports.
“We are very proud that they are representing the Philippines here and hopefully we can also mobilise our people to see the event on Friday,” said Quintana.
