Dubai – The iconic 160-story Burj Khalifa remained half-lit, sending a strong message on women empowerment.
The UAE joined the global #HeForShe campaign, a solidarity campaign which was initiated by the United Nations to promote the advancement of gender equality and fight social stereotypes.
The gestures followed the directives of Shaikha Fatima bint Mubarak, Chairwoman of the General Women's Union, Supreme Chairwoman of the Family Development Foundation and President of the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood.
The half-lift majestic skyscraper symbolises the lost power and squandered potential when the world excludes women and girls.
In line with the directives of Her Highness Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak to empower women globally,@BurjKhalifa
