Qatar is set to launch construction projects worth about QR20 billion ($5.49 billion) next year as part of the internal road development programme, said a report.
These projects include reconstruction and rebuilding of internal roads in Doha and around, development of pavements, walk-ways and cycling-path and other related facilities, reported The Peninsula citing Mohamed bin Abdullah Al Rumaihi, the Minister of Municipality and Environment.
New cities like Lusail City, Cultural Village and all around Doha will have many more projects than the ones we have finished, stated Al Rumaihi.
“After having completed the first phase of highways and other road development programme, now we have internal roads in Doha and its neighbourhoods which are now being developed and rebuilt. This is one of the areas where we are concentrating now," stated Al Rumaihi, while speaking on the sidelines of the opening day of the The Big 5 Qatar.
"It will be providing good opportunities which are not only be limited to roads but also other works all around it, such as the development of pavements, walkways, cycling-path and other," he added.
