THREE naval taskforces dedicated to regional maritime security are for the first time being led by Gulf nations.
The Kuwaiti Navy is commanding the Combined Task Force (CTF) 151 and CTF 152, which focuses on counter-piracy and maritime security in the Gulf respectively, while Saudi Arabia is heading the CTF 150 that is responsible for maritime security and counter terrorism operations in the Middle East .
