Tunisian Salim Al Mezlini scored twice to lead Al Hidd to a 2-0 victory over Malkiya in a fourth week match of the Nasser bin Hamad Football Premier League at Bahrain National Stadium last night.
In another match held at Khalifa Sports City Stadium, Muharraq defeated Al Najma 2-0.
Last night’s victory was the first for Al Hidd in three games, and now they have four points while Malkiya remain with three points from two matches.
Al Hidd opened scoring in the 60th minute when Al Mezlini sent a powerful shot straight into the net.
They made it 2-0 in the 85th minute, once again through Al Mezlini.
Muharraq sealed their first victory in the second match of the season after having drawn their opener against Manama.
Abdulla Abdo was the hero for Muharraq scoring both goals in the second half. The first goal came in the 62nd minute while the second was scored in the 73rd.
Muharraq now have four points while Al Najma remain with three from three matches.
