Kuwait City – The Kuwaiti customs authorities foiled an attempt to smuggle a large quantity of Chinese liquor and tobacco.
On-duty officers at Al-Showeikh seaport screened a shipment and seized 980 cartons, containing 15,000 bottles of liquor, 600 cans of beer and 600 cartons of cigarettes.
Northern Seaports director Saleh Al-Harbi said that the shipment was imported under the name of a company.
The confiscated shipment was handed over to the General anti-liquor and narcotics directorate to take legal action.
