Muscat - The tropical storm continues to move towards the Yemeni coasts and the nearby border areas of Oman, a statement from the National Committee for Civil Defence (NCCD) said.
It added that the Dhofar Governorate is still under the direct influence of the tropical situation and there are chances of heavy rainfall over the next 12 hours.
Heavy rains are expected in areas such as Dhalkut and Rakhut in the coming hours.
The Directorate General of Health Services in Dhofar announces the closure of the out-patient clinic in Sultan Qaboos Hospital and the Cardiology Clinic in the Heart Centre till further notice, reported NCCD.
Oman Meteorology in its morning update said that the tropical storm is travelling at a speed of 35-45 knots around the center, towards west and northwest.
It added that the center of the tropical storm is 210 km from Oman coasts (Salalah). It said that some areas in Dhofar continue to experience moderate to heavy rainfall.
