Kuwait City: The Public Authority for Food and Nutrition (PAFN) recommended a temporary ban on all food imports from Iraq due to rising cholera cases which resulted from polluted water in the governorate of Basra.
The PAFN officials urged the authorities to prohibit imports of food products and beverages from the neighbouring country as a preventive measure to avert health risks, Alqabas reported.
The Ministry of Commerce and Industry in Kuwait has yet to issue an edict approving the (PAFN) recommended ban.
The Ministry of Health had issued a stamen pointing out the rise in the number of cholera-infected patients in Basra, Iraq.
