The Bahrain Disabled Sports Federation, in cooperation with Bahrain Triathlon Association, will hold the second Charity Race for Disabled Individuals on November 3 from 7.30am at the Bahrain National Stadium.
The race will be held under the patronage of Supreme Council for Youth and Sports first deputy chairman, Bahrain Athletics Association president and Bahrain Disabled Sports Federation honorary president Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa. It is part of Shaikh Khalid’s initiatives to integrate disabled people with all segments of society.
The races depend on age groups and disability. They include general 3km race for the able-bodied, 3km cycling race for disabled individuals, 1km kids’ race for ages 11-13, 500m kids’ race for ages 9-10, 200m race for individuals with Down Syndrome and 100m kids’ race for ages 6-8.
The federation invites all companies and businesses to participate in the race in support of the disabled. Participation fee is BD3 for able-bodied entrants of all ages. Each participant will receive a shirt and medal, in addition to cups for the top three victors in each race.
