Bin Hamoodah Auto, the official Chevrolet dealer in Abu Dhabi, has handed over the keys to their first Bolt EV customer, Mohamed Saeed Salem Balabd Alsuwaidi, a UAE national, a press release stated.

The Bolt EV is Chevrolet’s first electric vehicle in the region and the first electric vehicle ever to combine clean technology with an anxiety-free range of up to 520km on a single charge.

Mohamed said: “I am extremely excited to finally get my hands on the Chevrolet Bolt EV. Every little step counts on the journey to a greener future and I was thrilled to hear that Chevrolet was introducing more environmentally friendly options to their regional line up.

“The Bolt EV is the perfect car for me as it offers unbeatable green credentials and I don’t have to compromise on practicality, thanks to the Bolt EV’s performance and range abilities. This purchase was a positive step for me and I can’t wait to start driving the Chevrolet Bolt EV around the UAE.”

Molly Peck, chief marketing officer at General Motors – Middle East, said: “Since its reveal at the Dubai International Motor Show and its participation in the Global Electric Vehicle Road Trip, the appetite for the Chevrolet Bolt EV in the region has shown no signs of abating. We have already sold two Chevrolet Bolt EVs to customers in Dubai this summer and this first sale in Abu Dhabi marks the beginning of a new chapter for us in the Emirate.

“Coupling up the Chevrolet Bolt EV with customers dedicated to driving change is a reward in itself for our team. We would encourage anyone who has any questions about electric vehicles to visit one of our showrooms to experience the future of mobility for themselves.”
