TOP skydivers from all over the world soared to new heights yesterday as the four-day Third FAI World Cup of Indoor Skydiving came to a thrilling end at Gravity Bahrain in Zallaq.
A prize distribution ceremony was held last night at the Ritz-Carlton Bahrain.
Twenty-five countries, including hosts Bahrain, took part in the event.
SDC Core team of the US won the Vertical Formation Skydiving Open title with a total of 292 points after 10 round of competition.
Flystation Vertical (262) of Russia finished second, Italy (204) third and RVC (201) of Russia fourth.
France (345) claimed the title in the Formation Skydiving 4-Way Open with a tally of 345 points after 10 rounds of competition. HayaBusa (333) of Belgium finished second and Amnesya (280) of Italy third.
Bahrain 1 (182) finished 18th and Bahrain 2 (148) 22nd.
Khalid Mashrah, Naser Khalifa, Husain Ebrahim, Ahmed Al Thawadi represented Bahrain 1 while Yunes Al Doseri, Khalifa Al Najjar, Abdulrahim Hemadi and Ammar Al Matri were part of Bahrain 2 team.
Air Devils (241) of Canada triumphed in the Formation Skydiving 4-Way Juniors section while France Jr (225) finished second, HF Cubs (218) of Czech Republic third and Aerokart(165) of France fourth.
NFTO of Great Britain won the Formation Skydiving 4-Way Female title with 254 points while France Female (230) finished second and Team X (224) of Sweden third.
Team Firefly of Singapore were victorious in the Dynamic 2-Way Tournament while France 1 finished second and France 2 third.
Garth Lewis and Benjamin Roane of Team Gravity finished eighth.
Tom Ivans of Latvia won the title in the Indoor Solo Freestyle Open with 65.6 points while Kyra Poh (65.4) was second and Maja Kuczynska (65.1) third.
Bahrain’s Fatima Al Khalifa (59.1) finished 10th and Nayef Al Somaim (42.5) 16th.
Kaleigh Wittenburg (64.2) of the US won the corresponding title in the junior section, ahead of Yi Xuan Choo (63.6) of Singapore and Coralie Boudreault (63.4) of Canada, who finished second and third respectively.
