Turkish company OrtaAnadolu Textile Bahrain Company started manufacturing denim fabric in Bahrain in 2010 and is 100 per cent foreign investment.
OrtaAnadolu is a Karamancı Holding affiliate company that was established in Turkey in 1953 as a spinning and weaving factory with 100pc Turkish capital.
In 1986, it was restructured and started to manufacture denim.
Known as one of the major innovative leaders in jeans and sportswear, OrtaAnadolu has representative offices in Brussels, Germany, Italy, the US, Australia, Colombia, Tokyo, Malaysia, and markets Ordenim, Orcotton, Denimus and Denimperial brands globally.
With a vision to be the preferred supplier to the leading global customers, OrtaAnadolu exports its denim fabric to global manufacturers and internationally recognised brands like G-Star, Mavi, Levi’s, Little Big, Tommy, Diesel, Replay, J Brand, Miss Sixty, D Squared, Paige and GAP.
In Bahrain, OrtaAnadolu Textile has three production units – one located in Sitra industrial area as a denim fabric manufacturing unit, the second is located in Asker Industrial area as a spinning yarn manufacturing unit and the third unit in Salman Industrial City, Hidd as a weaving unit.
As a foreign direct investment and a 100pc export-oriented company, Orta contributed a lot to Bahrain’s economy through payments to government ministries as well as by paying salaries and benefits to Bahraini employees.
Moreover, Orta has a fabric producing factory in Bahrain which uses 100pc raw material yarn for denim fabric from its own spinning unit.
Opportunities will be enhanced with the expansion of the current business which will give boost to Bahrain’s export business, while also supporting the economic and financial sector as well as providing more job opportunities to Bahraini nationals. All managers and engineers of Orta are Lean Six Sigma Green Belt Certified from the Kaizen Institute, Japan.
Orta is concerned about the environment and has already developed a green belt around all factories.
