Following the success of his previous single ‘Medicine,’ Dubai-based Lebanese singer Hadi has returned with ‘Carry You,’ his fourth single for Universal Music, a press release stated.
While ‘Medicine’ was an example of a singer-songwriter at the top of his game, ‘Carry You’ is a pop tune with a strong urban influence.
“Carry You is about that inspired feeling that calls on us to create something,” says Hadi. “The chorus goes ‘saying words for a million lives’, meaning that when we express ourselves and when we create from these deep and connected moments, we are expressing not just for us, but for a multitude of people out there who in-turn will connect, be inspired, and be impacted by what we create. It's like a pseudo helping hand. The lines ‘come and rest your tries, and your sleepless nights, and the tears you've cried, for we will carry you’, meaning that this song can be something to ‘lean on’ when someone feels in need of it. So it's almost like the verses describe the feelings that go into the creative process, and the chorus describes the impact of the end product.”
Since making the move into music in 2012, he’s performed alongside Sting’s guitarist Dominic Miller and UK pop star Jess Glynne and was recently picked up by Red Bull and MTV. On top of that, Hadi’s had success with his previous tracks: ‘Sun Will Rise’ charted on iTunes in the UAE and both ‘Sun Will Rise’ and ‘Invincible’ made it big in America, charting at #12 on New York radio station Brooklyn M3. More recently, his track ‘Medicine’ was playlisted by Apple Music and Anghami, was picked up on radio across the Middle East and led to a series of interviews and features.
“I'm in music because it brings me joy and allows me to connect with not just myself on a deeper level, but with people around the world. My goal is travelling the world playing my songs to people worldwide, sharing the stage with artists that inspire me and that I listen to on a daily basis. It's about building a platform that allows me to inspire and be inspired, and to share my stories and emotions with the world.”
