Ahmed Al Haiki scored in the last minute to power Muharraq past East Riffa 2-1 yesterday in the Nasser bin Hamad Football Premier League held at Muharraq Club Stadium.
Also winning were Riffa who beat Budaiya with ease 4-1, and Manama who crushed Malkiya 3-0. Both matches were held at Khalifa Sports City Stadium.
East Riffa had taken the lead in the 69th minute through Sami Al Hussaini but Muharraq equalised just a minute later, through striker Ismael Abdullatif.
Al Haiki proved to be the hero for Muharraq as he found his target in the 89th minute.
With the win, Muharraq moved up in the table with sevent points, while East Riffa remained with eight points.
Meanwhile, Riffa continued topping the group standings after their easy victory against Budaiya.
They now have 12 points, while Budaiya remained in the bottom with three points.
Riffa led the first half 2-0 through goals from Oache and Hamad Shamsan and then found the back of the net again in the 53rd minute.
Budaiya scored their lone goal in the second half through Ahmed Al Sheroogi in the 68th minute before Riffa wrapped up the win through Emanuel in the 95th minute.
Manama have eight points, while Malkiya remained with three points.
Eric put Manama ahead in the first half by converting a penalty kick in the 16th minute.
In the second half, Manama scored two more goals through Mahmood Abdulrahman in the 45th minute by penalty kick, and Abdulla Ali Habeeb in the 86th minute.
