Sixteen-year-old Tharun Bronson shone brightest at the American Mission Hospital-sponsored medal competition at Awali Golf Club course on Friday.
The pride of India posted an impressive nett score of 59, six points ahead of runner-up Nathan Sundaresan. Rashid Ahmed Abdulla registered the lowest gross score of 74 to emerge the Medal Winner.
The competition also served as a qualifier for the KPAO matchplays. The top 16 in each of the three flights will play matchplay with the Kingsbury (1st Division) acting as the Club Championship of Awali Golf Club.
Meanwhile, club captain Serwin Rampersad extended a warm welcome to Julia Tovey, the first female COO of American Mission Hospital.
Tovey spent the afternoon at the clubhouse observing players making their way up the 18th and then presenting the prizes in the evening. Rampersad also gave a special word of thanks to club member Barthendu Metha for all of his help and support.
Next week, the Arcapita Stableford competition will be held at Awali Golf Club.
