BAHRAIN take on Algeria tonight in a crucial encounter at the 23rd Arab Men’s Basketball Championship, being held in Cairo.
The game is scheduled to begin at 6pm, Bahrain time.
The nationals will be looking to bounce back from a loss on Saturday night against defending champions and tournament hosts Egypt. They had earlier beaten Saudi Arabia in their opening game on Friday.
The Bahrainis are currently in fourth place on the tournament standings with three points from two games.
Egypt take on Saudi in today’s second game, scheduled for an 8pm tip-off, Bahrain time.
The Bahrainis had a training session yesterday supervised by head coach Salman Ramadhan. The veteran Bahraini tactician worked on certain the team’s game strategy against their Algerian counterparts, who are set to pose a tough challenge.
Bahrain is expected to benefit from the return of forwards Ali Shukrallah and Mohammed Buallay today. Both players were not fielded against Egypt as a precaution, after they each suffered different injuries in Bahrain’s opening win against Saudi.
