BAHRAIN will be hosting the General Assembly of the International Federation for Equestrian Sports (FEI) for the first time from tomorrow to Tuesday, it was announced last night by vice-president of Supreme Council for Environment and president of Bahrain Royal Equestrian and Endurance Federation (Breef) Shaikh Faisal bin Rashid Al Khalifa.
Shaikh Faisal praised His Majesty King Hamad’s support and encouragement to equestrian sports in Bahrain. He also commended the support and patronage of Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Representative of His Majesty for Charity Works and Youth Affairs, chairman of Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, president of Bahrain Olympic Committee and honourary president of Breef.
“The General Assembly will be very important not only at the organisational level. It will discuss several items of the agenda, including reasons for the cancellation of the World Endurance Championship after the third phase in North Carolina, US, due to lack of readiness by the organising committee much to the dissatisfaction of all participating teams.”
Members of the General Assembly will arrive within the next two days.
