BAHRAIN take on Oman tonight in an international friendly match in Muscat.
The tune-up is scheduled to kick off at 6.25pm, Bahrain time.
The game is a part of the senior men’s national football team’s ongoing preparations for future competitions, with a specific focus on the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Asian Cup taking place in January of next year in the UAE.
This evening’s fixture against Oman will be the fifth friendly for Bahrain in the past couple of months.
The nationals had already played against the visiting Philippines and China in September, and then last month took on Syria and Myanmar. The Bahrainis were also scheduled to play against Kuwait on Thursday last week in Kuwait City, but the Kuwaiti federation were forced to cancel at the last minute due to unstable weather conditions.
Bahrain national team head coach Miroslav Soukup had named 26 players for the friendlies.
They include two overseas professionals in Sayed Dhiya Saeed and Sayed Mahdi Baqer, who play for Al Nasr in Kuwait. The rest are Sayed Shubbar Alawi, Abdulkareem Fardan, Ashraf Waheed, Sayed Redha Isa, Ahmad Merza, Hamad Shamsan, Ahmed Bu Ghammar, Waleed Al Hayyam, Ahmed Juma’a, Ahmed Abdulla, Abdulwahab Ali, Jassim Al Shaikh, Kumail Al Aswad, Mohammed Al Hardan, Ali Madan, Ahmed Moosa, Jamal Rashid, Mohammed Marhoon, Abdulla Abdo, Sami Al Hussaini, Ahmed Al Sheroogi, Abdulla Yousif, Mohammed Al Romaihi and Mahdi Hemaidan.
