Nawaf Salem Al Noaimi emerged overall winner in the ‘Black Ball Challenge’ held at Awali Golf Club (AGC) on Friday.
Al Noaimi scored a total of 41 points to beat runner-up Daij Khalifa with 41 points and in third-placed C.V. Murthy with 39 points.
The competition saw teams of three alternatingly playing a black golf ball on rotating holes. The teams were then scored individually and on their success with the black ball. After 18 holes, the winner were determined.
In the team event, Abdul R.A. Wahed, Rashid Ahmed Abdulla and Chaitanya Kodange claimed first place. Runners-up were Salem Al Doseri, Mohammed Khalifa and Nawaf Salem Al Noaimi.
On Saturday, Royal Golf Club defeated AGC in a closely fought contest 5 ½ points-4 1/2 in the annual duel also known as the Green/Brown Challenge.
