Kuwait City: Moroccan and Tunisian women aged less than 40 have been banned from working in Kuwait unless accompanied by a close relative.
The Public Authority of Manpower announced the new restriction at the demand of the Moroccan and Tunisian governments.
Under the new measure, women of both nationalities will not be granted work permits in Kuwait unless accompanied by a father, brother or husband.
Lebanese women wishing to work in Kuwait are also required to be accompanied by a close relative and submit a security pass, according to Al Rai newspaper.
The new restrictions do not apply to women of other nationalities.
