Saudi pledges 100 million euros to G5 Sahel

Riyadh: Saudi Minister of State for African Affairs Ahmed bin Abdulaziz Qattan announced his country's donation of 100 million euros to support G5 Sahel, according to Jazirah.

He announced the move during the opening of the Co-ordination Conference of G5 Sahel Partners and Funders for Financing of Priority Investment Programme (PIP) for (2019-2021) in the Mauritanian capital Nouakchott.

He said that King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud had ordered 100 million euros to support the group of five, adding that half of this amount will be allocated to support the priority investments of the group of five in the Africa's Sahel region.

The G5 Sahel is made up of five African countries Mali, Mauritania, Niger, Burkina Faso and Chad.
