From the savoury fenugreek leaf and flour thepla, to the slightly spicy potato and tomato dish and the beautiful sweet-reduced milk, every item on the platter is perfectly crafted by Al Hamra Palace Chef Narendra.
Other items include yoghurt and cucumber raita, which blends perfectly with other dishes, as well as dal, green gram or moong as it is called in India, cabbage, chickpea flour and arby leaf patra, and the undeniably tasty homemade traditional-style condensed milk with custard apple called Basundi.
Guests are also served with perfectly made puri and phulka breads, along with a small pot of white rice and khichdi to accompany the dishes on the platter.
Every dish on the Gujarati Thali Utsav plate is vegetarian and does not have any onion, garlic or ginger included in its ingredients.
A very welcome addition to this lunchtime treat is the buttermilk drink, complete with Indian spices, garnished with roasted cumin seed powder, which makes for the most delicious accompaniment to your meal.
