New India Assurance Co is euphoric to celebrate this day with its staff and customers.
The New India Assurance Co, founded by Sir Dorab TATA from the House of TATAs and incorporated in 1919, started its operations in Bahrain in 1959 with the prestigious International Agencies Co, as the chief agent.
In late 2002, Zayani Business Group Bahrain joined the team as sub-agent.
The company was nationalised in India in 1973, thus making New India Assurance Co the largest General Insurance Company in the country, with more than 2,500 branches across the globe including a box office in Lloyds office London.
The company offers an array of general insurance products to individuals and corporate entities across the globe.
The global gross premium for the fiscal year 2016-2017 was Rs22,279 crores and for the first quarter of fiscal year 2017-2018 ended June 30, 2017, is Rs6,231 crores.
Profit before tax and after tax as on June 30, 2017 was Rs601 crores and Rs499 crores.
As of June 30, 2017 the net worth of the company including fair value stood at Rs37,593 crores, with investments at market value totalling Rs56,305 crores and the asset base at Rs72,576 crores.
At the helm of the Bahrain office operations is chief operating officer, Sohan Lal Koli – a strategist with core general insurance experience spanning a multitude of years.
His vision and motivation has seen the company move in the desired direction in the kingdom.
The company will soon open its fifth location in Manama, at the Salahuddin Building.
Steadfast focus is on various other projects including an online policy renewal option to customers, extending the satellite payment collection option through money service businesses and opening new locations.
This National Day is special for all at New India Assurance.
