The Indian School Bahrain (ISB) Mega Fair 2018 is receiving an enthusiastic response from people from all walks of life.
The Mega Fair will be held on the school campus in Isa Town today and tomorrow from 6pm to 11pm.
The main attractions at the event are musical performances led by Indian playback singers Vidhu Prathap, Gayathri and Sanjith Salam today and popular singer Priyanka Negi tomorrow.
The entrance fee to the Mega Fair will be BD2.
Teachers, students, parents and community members are actively collaborating with ISB management to ensure the massive fair is a success, organised at one of the largest community schools in the GCC.
The school has organised a spacious car park facility for the fair at the Bahrain National Stadium, which is near the school campus.
A shuttle bus service will also be available at the stadium to take guests to the campus on both days of the fair.
The school football ground will host entertainment programmes and stalls, along with other commercial stalls and food stalls set up in the basketball court.
Current and former students have organised various cultural events as well as food stalls, giving guests an opportunity to experience recipes from various Indian states.
In addition, a property expo will be held on both days.
A 300-member team, led by general convener S Inayadulla, have been working tirelessly to ensure the fair is a grand success. This year’s sports tournaments, dance competitions and photography contest were arranged in connection with the Mega Fair.
The competitions in cinematic dance and folk dance were held last Monday and Tuesday and members of all age groups took part.
A photography contest was also organised for all nationalities residing in Bahrain with the last entries accepted yesterday.
The winners will be announced on Friday evening during the Mega Fair finale and the school has made all arrangements for the safe and smooth conduct of the carnival.
The venue of the fair will be under CCTV surveillance and various ministries in Bahrain will co-operate with the fair in arranging the stalls.
The ISB Mega Fair is a carnival for families to enjoy and experience the entertainment activities.
Teachers from the Isa Town and Riffa campuses will run around 10 food and game stalls, in addition to a stall set up by the Indian School student council.
The first prize-winner of the Mega Raffle Draw, to be held on Friday, will take home a Zayani Motors sponsored Mitsubishi car.
The revenue generated from the fair will be used for charitable activities for the school and the welfare of teachers.
“Last year around 800 students benefited from the funds generated from the Mega Fair and the two-day fair witnessed a crowd of over 200,000 enthusiasts,” said ISB chairman Prince S Natarajan.
