Kuwaiti twitter user faces 75 years in jail

Kuwait City – The Criminal Court has sentenced a Kuwaiti twitter user  named Saqr Al-Hashash to five years in absentia.

He now faces, with this latest verdict, a  total of 75 years in prison.

He has been convicted in a string of libel suits and court cases involving state security issues.

The Criminal Court had also convicted Al-Hashash in absentia for violating the homeland law on state security and found him guilty of defaming the Amir of Kuwait on his Twitter account.
