The Bahrain national football team will leave this evening for the UAE to compete in the Asian Cup 2019 which kicks off in Abu Dhabi on Saturday.
The delegation, headed by Bahrain Football Association president Shaikh Ali bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, includes team coach Miroslav Soukup, assistant coach Khalid Taj, physotherapist Jerry, goalkeeping trainer Andre, team manager Aref Abdulrazzaq, team administrators Nabeel Ibrahim and Abdulla Al Mutawa, media coordinator Mohammed Abdulghaffar and 23 players.
The players are Sayed Shubbar Alawi, Abdulkareem Al Fardan, Yousif Habeeb, Sayed Redha Isa, Ahmed Merza, Ahmed Juma, Ahmed Abdulla, Waleed Al Hayyam, Sayed Mahdi Baqer, Ahmed Bu Ghammar, Hamad Shamsan, Abdulwahab Ali, Kumail Al Aswad, Jassim Al Shaikh, Ali Haram, Ali Madan, Mahdi Hemaidan, Sayed Dheya Saeed, Mohammed Marhoon, Jamal Rashid, Mohammed Al Romaihi, Abdulla Yousif and Sami Al Hussaini.
Bahrain, who are in Group ‘A’, will take on hosts UAE in the opening match of the championship at Abu Dhabi. The other teams in the group are India and Thailand, with the top two qualifying for the second round.
The team will be staying at Crowne Plaza Hotel in Abu Dhabi. The championship concludes on February 1.
