Top tango dancers Gladys Fernandez and Santosh Awataramni will be putting on a spectacular performance on January 11 at a special event hosted by La Fontaine.

Ms Fernandez has an extensive background in classical and contemporary dance, and was trained by the late greatest masters of Buenos Aires and popular dancers — the milongueros.

She has worked in Italy, The Netherlands and Belgium since 1991 and gave numerous seminars and workshops in major cities.

Ms Fernandez is an established cultural ambassador, with 30 years of tango experience, and is blessed with sophisticated elegance of movement.

Mr Awataramni is Ms Fernandez’s official dance partner to perform and teach in India, Europe and Middle East.

He has a solid background as an actor and lately in tango, having both the same mentor and training as Ms Fernandez with maestro G Naveira, the top Argentinian master, renowned to be one of the personalities who keeps the evolution of this dance around the world with his unique style.

The performance, which will start at 8pm, costs BD20+, while tickets including dinner will cost BD30+ and will start from 6.30pm.

Prices will be reduced by 10 per cent if payments are settled before January 5.
