Shura Council rejects 'good conduct' visa rule for expats

SHURA Council members yesterday threw out a new rule that would have forced expatriates to get a certificate of good conduct from Bahrain’s embassies and diplomatic missions before being approved for a work visa. The council’s services committee last week recommended the amendment to the 2006 Labour Market Regulatory Set-up Law be rejected for being “impossible” and “impractical”.
