The Bahrain Tennis Club, in cooperation with the Bahrain Disabled Sports Association and Rotary Adliya Club, has shortlisted the first wheelchair tennis team in the region.
At a recent event, tennis experts Aziz Rasool, Essam Abdula’al, Kamal Khonji and Khalid Nass evaluated players on the field. International Tennis Federation (ITF) trainer Louis de Souza was among those present to witness the skills of the shortlisted players.
Bahrain Tennis Club vice-chairman Merza Al Sammak said that Bahrain is set to become the first GCC country to have a wheelchair tennis team. The selected team, says Bahrain Disabled Sports Association member Ali Al Nabhan, will participate in Bahrain Sports Day on February 13.
