A MOVIE night will be hosted by La Fontaine Centre of Contemporary Art, Manama on Tuesday.
The evening will feature Rikyu, which is set in 16th century Japan.
Rikyu is a Buddhist priest who believes in the spiritual healing inherent in the traditional Japanese tea ceremony.
When the man sets out to teach this intricate ritual and its philosophies to Toyotomi, a powerful shogun, the two men develop an unlikely friendship.
Directed by Hiroshi Teshigahara, the film won the Japan Academy Prize for ‘outstanding performance’.
The film will begin at 8pm, with dinner served from 6.30pm.
l Meanwhile, the night of Tango dancing set to take place on Friday has been postponed to March 15, where top tango dancers Gladys Fernandez and Santosh Awataramni will be putting on a spectacular performance.
Ms Fernandez has an extensive background in classical and contemporary dance and Mr Awataramni is her official dance partner to perform and teach in India, Europe and Middle East.
He has a solid background as an actor and lately in tango, having both the same mentor and training as Ms Fernandez with maestro G Naveira, the top Argentinian master.
