BOC officials with representatives of national sports federations
The Organising Committee of the 2019 Bahrain Sports Day will be holding a meeting at the Regency Hotel today to discuss preparations for the third edition of the event, due to take place on February 12.
Meanwhile, the Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC) hosted a meeting with representatives of national sports federations to discuss the programmes by each federation during the event.
Supreme Council for Youth and Sports assistant secretary general and BOC secretary general Abdulrahman Askar stressed the importance of engaging Bahrain’s citizens and expats alike in a variety of sports and entertaining activities.
Askar thanked His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa for cutting down the official working hours at all ministries and institutions by half to allow everyone to be part of the activities.
BOC projects director Lounes Madene made a presentation on the details of the federations’ programmes on the day.
Elsewhere, the Ministry of Youth and Sports Affairs officials held a meeting with representatives of the four governorates, chaired by the ministry’s assistant undersecretary Dr Shaikh Saqer bin Salman Al Khalifa. The meeting reviewed the activities of each governorate at the event and discussed a plan to create mini sports villages in each governorate.
