Registration has started for the sixth School Mini Olympics, organised by Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC).
The Mini Olympics, to be held in cooperation with the Ministry of Education, will see schools from all over the kingdom competing in more than 20 events.
Twenty-two teams were confirmed at BOC Project Directorate’s first coordination meeting with the Ministry of Education and private schools.
The deadline for accepting entries is February 7, while the technical meeting will be held on February 17.
Twelve players are eligible to represent each team in the football championship, including eight on the field. Passes will be issued for each participant.
Venues for the Mini Olympics – Isa Sports City, Khalifa Sports City Hall, Umm Al Hassam, Bahrain International Circuit (cars and bicycles) and the Polytechnic University tennis court – were also approved at the meeting.
The meeting was attended by BOC projects manager Lounes Madene, senior management specialist Mamoon Al Khateeb, specialist Jawahar Abdullah, Maryam Abdul Jabbar from Information Technology Directorate. Ministry of Education’s physical education head Dr Nader Jamali, Hani Hussain Ali and Fatima Hassan from the Physical Education department were also present.
