Indian School win under-16 championship

The Indian School won the CBA-BOC Under-16 Cricket Championship after defeating Pakistan School by 70 runs in the final at the National Stadium ground.

Batting first, Indian School scored a total of 149 runs for six wickets in 20 overs. Captain Govind Bingly (18) and Anirudh S Nair (45 not out) gave a solid start to the innings and added 68 runs for the opening wicket. Zulfiqar Hussain Shah was the most successful bowler for Pakistan School, claiming two wickets for 24 runs in three overs.

In reply, Pakistan School were bowled out for 79 runs. Indian School’s Karan Rawal took three wickets while Aryan Pande grabbed two.

Pakistan Urdu School beat Rest of the School by two wickets in the losers’ final to clinch the third position.

Apart from the championship trophies, special awards were also distributed at the final ceremony. Indian School’s Anirudh was named the man of the match in the final while his team-mate Karan Rawal was the tournament’s best bowler and Rest of the School’s Rishabh Ramesh the best batsman.

Ten teams took part in the tournament.

Cricket Bahrain Association board member Mohammed Ebrahim Al Abbasi was the chief guest at the final ceremony.
