East Riffa clinched the Bahrain FA Cup title after defeating Al Ahli 3-1 in the final at Khalifa Sports City Stadium in Isa Town last night.
East Riffa took the lead in the 30th minute when Serbian Gordan scored from the penalty spot. They maintained the lead well into the second half despite Ahli’s repeated attempts to equalise.
East Riffa extended the lead in the 80th minute when Gordan netted his second goal but Ahli managed to reduce the margin eight minutes later through Ali Hassan. East Riffa managed to keep Ahli at bay and scored their third goal in the injury time through Mohammed Hashim.
Bahrain Football Association second vice-president Ali Al Buainain, along with competition committee chairman Abdulredha Haqiqi, honoured the winners and runners-up.
