Muscat – Oman's average Gross Domestic Product (GDP) per capita stood at OMR 6,264 in 2017.
According to the 2040 Vision, the GDP per capita is expected to increase by 50 per cent in 2030 and by 100% in 2040 to reach OMR 12,500.
Official statistics show that Omani nationals made up 11.6% of the workforce in 2016. The studies expect the rate of Omani nationals in the private sector to rise to 42% by 2040.
The real GDP per capita is a measurement of the total economic output of a country divided by the number of people and adjusted for inflation. It's used to compare the standard of living between countries.
