The American Embassy has announced its support to the Bahrain Sports Day, scheduled for February 12.
The event is being organised for the third consecutive year by the Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC) in co-operation with the Education Ministry and in collaboration with Bahrain’s ministries, the private sector and the four governorates in an attempt to promote a healthy lifestyle.
During a meeting with BOC sports affairs executive director Abduljalil Asad, projects manager Lounes Madene and sports associations supervision head Fadi Humaidan, US Embassy media and cultural officer Karin Ehlert, along with office staff Najem Swar, discussed the embassy’s contributions.
Ehlert said that a private booth would be set up at the event’s venue in Isa Town where a workshop on American football skills would be held. It would be conducted by a team of experienced coaches hired by the embassy for the occasion.
Brochures and booklets on the most popular sport in the United States would also be presented to the crowd on the day.
Ehlert also praised BOC’s efforts to promote sports awareness among citizens and residents alike in the country. Asad, on his part, thanked the embassy for its contribution to the Sports Day.
