A NOSTALGIC musical evening awaits audiences tomorrow at Bahrain National Theatre.
A Tribute to the Great Divas of the Arab World will be performed by two of the region’s most talented artists – Ghada Shbeir and Mai Farouk.
From the 1920s to the 1960s, the Arab world became the epicentre of a creative effervescence, where legends such as Umm Kalthoum, Asmahan, Leila Mourad and Fairuz emerged and shaped the golden age of Arabic music with their enchanting voices and indomitable personalities.
This musical performance, specially designed and conducted by Ramzi Aburedwan and Alain Weber, revives some of the exquisite songs that transpired through movie screens and radio sets, from Egypt to Syria, radiating to Morocco. Doors open at 7pm.
