ONE of the biggest MMA stars in the Kingdom of Bahrain has his next challenge scheduled.
Hussein Ayyad will face Philippines’ Jason Vergara in Brave 22 on March 15 at the Mall of Asia Arena in Manila, Brave Combat Federation officials confirmed last night.
Ayyad rose in the rankings of MMA quickly, from an accomplished amateur athlete under the IMMAF banner to a professional fighter signed with a global promotion.
Ayyad has a professional record of two wins and one loss and will face his third Filipino opponent - previously he beat Jomar Pa-ac and lost to John Cris Corton.
Ayyad was one of the first fighters to join Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa’s KHK MMA Team back in 2015.
In his most recent appearance, the Bahraini fighter defeated Egypt’s Abo Ali at home in one of the most celebrated matches of Brave 18 last November.
Vergara has a professional record of three wins and only one loss. Currently, “Python” is on a three-win streak.
In the main event of the evening, Team Stephen “The Sniper” Loman puts his bantamweight world title on the line against the former featherweight champion Elias “Smile” Boudegzdame.
