Customs authorities at Dubai International Airport seized 47.6 kilogrammes of objects used in practicing sorcery last year, according to Al Bayan.
The list of "magic" items confiscated included talismans, pieces of animal skins, paper inscriptions and suspicious books used by sorcerers.
Customs officers scanned luggages of passengers and discovered the prohibited objects.
Airport authorities said that they foiled 12 attempts to smuggle these items last year.
In 2017, customs officers foiled 16 attempts and seized 30kg of sorcery objects.
They seized 10.3kg of suspicious objects found in the luggage of an African passenger, in the biggest haul last year.
