Riyadh: A nationwide campaign is underway in Saudi Arabia to combat measles and rubella, according to Almowaten.
The Ministry of Health launched the two-month drive to vaccinate children aged six months to five years.
The ministry announced the campaign, which started early this week, with hashtag lets_stop_measles.
The highly contagious respiratory infectious disease is caused by the measles virus. It is an important cause of death among young children globally.
Symptoms of measles generally appear between seven to 14 days after a person is infected, and its indications are high fever, cough, runny nose, red and watery eyes.
Getting vaccinated is the best way to prevent child infections.
