Riyadh: An initiative was launched in Saudi Arabia in solidarity with women suffering from breast cancer.
The Zahra Breast Cancer Society announced the step in support of patients who lost their hair after undergoing chemotherapy.
The association is planning to help women, either with cash or tufts of hair – in a first in Saudi Arabia.
The charity has started receiving tufts of hair donated by women in support of breast cancer patients.
According to Al Watan newspaper, the hair have to be clean, healthy, smooth and and at least 20 centimetres long.
Under conditions set by the association, donated hair should not be damaged or curly.
