A CHEMICAL used in a crucial medical test to detect a heart attack is not available in the country’s main public hospital, it has emerged.
The GDN has learned that the shortage was reported on Monday and has resulted in the inability of doctors at Salmaniya Medical Complex (SMC) to perform the Troponin Test, which measures the levels of proteins released when the heart muscle has been damaged .
