Lev Kastman of Russia won the junior boys’ singles gold after defeating Lilian Bardet of France in the final on the last day of the Bahrain International Open Table Tennis Juniors and Cadets Championship.
Lev defeated Lilian 4-0 (11-7, 13-11, 11-9, 13-11) in the title clash held at the Bahrain Table Tennis Association (BTTA) premises in Riffa.
BTTA president Shaikha Hayat bint Abdulaziz Al Khalifa honoured both players.
Kristina Kazantseva of Russia won the junior girls’ singles title defeating compatriot Olga Vishniakova 4-0 (11-8, 11-5, 11-5, 11-8) in the final.
The finalists were honoured by Bahrain Volleyball Association president Shaikh Ali bin Mohammed Al Khalifa.
In the junior boys’ doubles category, Lev Kastman and Artem Tikhonov of Russia emerged 3-0 (11-5, 11-6, 14-12) winners over Payas Jain and Deepit Patil of India.
The winners received their trophies from Bahrain Tennis Association vice-president Shaikh Abdulaziz bin Mubarak Al Khalifa.
Meanwhile, Kristina Kazantseva and Olga Vishniakova of Russia won the junior girls’ doubles gold after defeating Swastika Gosh and Manushree Patil of India 3-2 (9-11, 8-11, 11-8, 11-6, 11-6).
Former Bahrain table tennis player Fahmi bin Ali Al Jowder honoured the winners.
The cadet girls’ singles title went to Anargya Manjunath of India who defeated compatriot Yashaswini Deepak 3-1 (11-9, 5-11, 11-6, 11-9). Bahrain Self Defence Association president Ahmed Abdulaziz Al Khayyat honoured the finalists.
