Muscat - A new case of Middle East Respiratory Syndrome Coronavirus (MERS-CoV) was registered in Oman.
The Ministry of Health has so far reported six cases in various parts of the country since since the beginning of 2019.
The patient who was diagnosed with the viral disease has been given the necessary medical treatment.
The ministry said that monitoring the situation through Epidemiological Surveillance System and the hospitals in Oman are capable for dealing with such cases.
It called upon urged citizens and residents to comply with preventive measures to control infection and to cover nose and mouth when sneezing.
