Pottery, metalworking, textile-weaving, gypsum-engraving and other traditional handicrafts were on display during a handicrafts festival yesterday. It was held at the Bahraini Farmers Market at Budaiya Botanical Garden and also included a display of henna, traditional hot drinks and various activities for children. It was organised by the Agriculture and Marine Resources Directorate of the Works, Municipalities Affairs and Urban Planning Ministry in co-operation with the Bahrain Tourism and Exhibitions Authority. Forty farms, six farming companies, 15 bee-keepers and 54 restaurants and cafés are taking part in the seventh edition of the market which has attracted thousands of people. The weekly market continues every Saturday from 8am to 2pm until April 27. Above, colourful pottery money banks on display at the festival.
