Nine promising young children displayed exceptional football skills at one of the Southern Governorate’s Al Hajjiyat fields as part of the ‘Al Firjan Playgrounds’ initiative, aimed to promote the sport among youngsters and select future stars of the world’s most popular game.
A committee formed by the Bahrain Olympic Committee that is tasked to supervise the project continued its visits to a number of playgrounds in different parts of Bahrain. Committee representatives Hamad Mohammed and Mohammed Sulaiman, along with former national team star Marjan Eid, Southern Governorate’s Municipal Council member Abdulla Abdullatif and the media team, visited children at East Riffa’s playgrounds, encouraging them to continue playing football.
The team also held a short practice match for the children, which was conducted by Mohammed and Eid. The players received footballs as gifts. Above, project officials and guests with young footballers at the Southern Governorate playgrounds.
