The second edition of the Strongest Bahraini Championship kicks off today at Bahrain International Circuit (BIC).
Under the patronage of Supreme Council for Youth and Sports first deputy president, Bahrain Athletic Association president and Bahrain Sports Federation for Disabilities honorary president Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the event will run until Saturday under the slogan #Be_a_Beast.
The first day of the championship will witness the final registration procedures for the participants in the adults and children’s categories. All participants are requested to be present at the venue of the championship at BIC between 4pm to 9pm to complete the registration and weigh-ins procedures.
The children’s contest will take place tomorrow and it will include the strongest Bahraini child, colours race and other contests.
The revenues generated from the championship will be allocated to support cancer patients as per the directives of Shaikh Khalid.
“The countdown is finally over for the participants in the final stages of the second Strongest Bahraini Championship,” Shaikh Khalid said.
“With the launch of the championship, the challenge, excitement and enthusiasm is renewed as the participants successfully passed the qualifiers, which was held last September in an atmosphere of strong competition among the contenders.

“We look forward to strong levels and performances at this stage, contributing to adding new success to this sporting event.”
Shaikh Khalid noted the championship is an opportunity to highlight the capability of the Kingdom of Bahrain to embrace different sporting events and activities.
Shaikh Khalid lauded the public and private sectors for supporting the event which comes in line with the Royal Directives of His Majesty King Hamad to promote Bahraini youth and sports movement.
He also praised the support by the different sponsoring media platforms to promote the championship, among them the Ministry of Information Affairs, represented by Bahrain Sports Channel, and the Arabic and English publications, websites and pages on social media networks.
Supreme Council for Youth and Sports and Bahrain Olympic Committee general secretary Dr Abdulrahman Sadiq Askar said the championship comes in line with the aspirations of HM the King for Charity and Youth Affairs representative, Supreme Council for Youth and Sports president and Bahrain Olympic Committee head Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa to organise different sports events and encourage the Bahraini youth to showcase their skills.
