Riffa will take on Al Hidd in the King’s Cup final at 6pm today at the Bahrain National Stadium in Riffa.
The match, which is held under the patronage of His Majesty King Hamad, is expected to be attended by a huge fans of both clubs. It will be broadcast live on Bahrain TV sport channel.
Riffa will be hoping to win a fifth King’s Cup title after last winning it in 2009.
Al Hidd, on the other hand, are looking to win only their second cup, their first coming in the 2015 season.
Riffa made it to the final after defeating Busaiteen in penalty shootout in the round 16, and Al Shabab in the first leg 1-0, followed by a 3-1 win in the second leg.
Riffa then beat Muharraq in the first leg semi-final 3-1 and in the second leg 1-0.
Al Hidd qualified for the final after defeating Sitra 1-0 in the first leg and 2-0 in the second leg during the round of 16.
They defeated East Riffa in the first leg quarter-final 1-0 and 1-0 in the second leg. They defeated Al Hala in the first leg semi-final 3-0 and drew 2-2 in the second leg.
Both teams met twice during the Nasser bin Hamad Football Premier League, as the first match ended 1-1, while the second match ended 2-2.
Meanwhile, Bahrain Football Association president Shaikh Ali bin Khalifa Al Khalifa visited both teams’ practices yesterday. He congratulated them for reaching the final, wishing them all the best.
