Royal Bahrain Hospital (RBH) is pleased to welcome once again prominent paediatric orthopaedic surgeon from India, Dr Atul Bhaskar, from Saturday to Monday.
With more than 25 years of experience, Dr Bhaskar will be available for consultations as well as diagnosis and treatment of congenital deformity, clubfoot and hip dislocation, limping, bow-legs and knock knees, fractures, infections, fragile bone disease and short stature.
Dr Bhaskar completed his Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery from Bombay University, India, in 1991 and went on to earn a Master of Surgery in Orthopaedics from the same university in 1994.
He pursued higher surgical training in the UK and obtained a Fellowship of the Royal Colleges of Surgeons (FRCS) in general surgery from Glasgow in 1997.
He then received his MCh (in orthopaedics) from the University of Liverpool in the UK along with an FRCS in trauma and orthopaedics to become a consultant in orthopaedic surgery. He has also attended fellowship training in Canada, Germany, the US and the UK.
Dr Bhaskar is a member of several medical associations including Bombay Orthopaedic Society, Indian Orthopaedic Association, Paediatric Orthopaedic Society of India, Royal College of Surgeons (Glasgow), Indian Medical Association, Mumbai Branch of the Indian Academy of Paediatrics and the American Academy of Cerebral Palsy.
