Riyadh: Saudi Arabia ranked second in the Arab region and 28th in the world as the happiest country, Akhbaar24 reported.
Finland topped the list of 156 countries, which were ranked in the United Nations Sustainable Development Solutions Network’s 2019 World Happiness Report.
The report ranks countries on several well-being variables including income, freedom, trust, healthy life expectancy and more.
The United Arab Emirates was crowned the happiest country in the Arab region and 21st in the world.
Bahrain ranked as third happiest Arab country and 37th in the world, followed by Kuwait (51), Libya (72), Algeria (88), Morocco (89), Jordan (101) and Somalia (112).
Two other Nordic countries - Denmark and Norway - were placed second and third, respectively.
The report, which covers the period running from 2016 up to 2018, coincides with World Happiness Day.
South Sudan was ranked the least happy on the list.
